For nearly 40 years, I worked at global Tier1 suppliers such as Bosch and ZF, building development structures that connect global engineering locations, including India, with the quality, cost and delivery expectations of Japanese customers.
The center of automotive competitiveness is shifting from hardware to software. According to estimates by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, software-defined vehicle development will require 325,000 software professionals by 2030, while domestic supply is expected to reach only 274,000, leaving a shortage of approximately 51,000 people.
